President's Message

A message from your Southwest Chapter President,

Welcome to 2022. Boat Show season is just around the corner. It is time to start planning your calendar of events. Online registration is now up and running for the 26 th annual Keels & Wheels show happening April 30 th - May 1 st . You can register to exhibit your boat on the website at Keels-Wheels.com. Start at the “Entrants” tab and work your way down to the registration section. If you have any questions, call the Keels & Wheels office.

Lisa and Mark Betner with the Houston Chapter of The Antique Outboard Motor Club (and fellow Southwest Chapter Member) have been planning a Chapter Rendezvous on Lake Conroe for April 9th at the Margaritaville resort. Look for more on this once we have all the details nailed down. I’m sure that Lisa will put a post on the Chapters Facebook page soon. We do not have a date set yet for the Fall Rendezvous at Lake LBJ. Information for that show will be coming in a future message, usually we do this show in mid-October.

The Sunnyland Chapter will be kicking off the show season with their March show at Tavares (Lake Dora), FL. The Heartland Chapter has their schedule published, and the WBA of North Texas has their calendar set as well. The ACBS Annual Meeting and International Antique and Classic Boat Show is scheduled for September 5th-10th in Burlington Vermont. Look for information on the ACBS website. Registration will open in April; but if you plan to attend, I recommend that you make your hotel reservations soon. Lisa and I thoroughly enjoyed last years show and we are looking forward to attending again this year. For those of you not as crazy as we are, towing a boat halfway across the country is not a requirement for attending any of these events.

See you on the water,

Lindy Robinson
