President's Message

Hello Fellow Skippers!

Well Summer is defiantly here in the South!  We had Great Weather and turn out at Keels & Wheels, with 73 Boats on display and the Kids build a boat program going on.  I would like to thank both ACBS president Terry Hoffman and Executive Director Peter Stephens for attending our event.  The Keels & Wheels Concours d ‘Elegance was able to donate $100,000.00 to Boys and Girls Harbor.  We had several  club members win Best of Class:  Classic Utility Century – Jim and Ronda Wolf with the beautiful “Selah”.  Classic Utility Chris Craft –Ron Stevenson –“Woody II Shoes”.  Classic Utility Other – Dave Parker – “My Fair Lady”

With the Show over it was time for Karen and me to focus on our Wedding in Islamorada, the Florida Keys. Although our first few days were with rain, on Friday morning the sun came out and the wedding went without a problem!  Karen and I would like to thank everyone for the well-wishes and  we are looking forward to many years together.

Looking to the Fall, we have two events planned for our most spectacular of boating seasons.  First, our sister club the WBA is holding their WBA Ride 'n Show on Lake Ray Hubbard in Rockwall on September the 13 and 14.  Note that this may end up a land only show as the lake is low due to not much rain this year.

Following that, please mark your Calendars for October the17 thru the 19 for our annual fall event on Lake LBJ—An Antique Boat Gathering, Horseshoe Bay/Sunrise Beach, Marble Falls, Texas.  As this is a constant level lake, there should be no worries in that department.  The attentive schedule is as follows:  Friday the 17th – Cruise at your pleasure and meet up for lunch at Sunrise Beach on your own.  Dinner will be at the Beautiful home of Scott and Pam Reichardt.  Saturday the 18th –Boat Show in the HSB Marina Slips 11:00 to 4:00 pm.  Lunch will be at HSB Marina, they will be serving hamburgers and you may bring your own beverages.  Dinner will be in Marble Falls at a restaurant to be determined.  Sunday the 19th –Donuts and Coffee to be served at Jim and Cindy Frechette’s.
Hope to see you all at one or both of the Great events!

Be Safe and Good Boating!
Brian D. Fielder, President
